Kathy KennedyKathy Kennedy was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 1977, she moved to New York City, and in 1979 started a custom black and white photo lab, which she oversaw for the next 20 years.In the mid 1980’s, Kennedy began photographing nature with plastic and pinhole cameras and experimenting extensively with the negatives in the darkroom. After closing her business in 1999, she moved to the North Fork of Long Island to better concentrate on her photography while living more closely with nature. While it was a prolific period for Kennedy, she missed the urban lifestyle. Consequently, she has recently returned to her hometown of Philadelphia, where she continues to photograph outdoors using traditional, non-digital methods. Artwork
